Did this sister's BF get a close look at both the Trek and the Mb? The early GT were pretty light Vutus tubing. The later ones were significantly heavier Vitus Tubing. After you strip the MB, let him pick them up and confirm his choice. I initially chose the MB but I'm starting to like the Trek. (Folding Paselas are pretty sweet for 27" tires on hooked rims.)
He was completely uninterested in the ‘Dale, and originally chose the Trek...but when I found the MBK, he wanted that one.
The Trek is really nice despite a small amount of oxidation...
