Went for a ride yesterday on my new/old bike. I'm amazed how fast and precise the downtube shifters are. Of course when you add in the time to take your hands off the bars and back on, not so fast. My lungs were really hurting, breathing hard up the easy climbs. Maybe because I got my second shot the day before?
