Random musings: Here in Parts Unknown, one must either display a taillamp or a reflector. Other jurisdictions, the law is weasel-worded to require
both. I wouldn't worry about the man ringing me up. but I would consider a crafty insurance company lawyer trying to make his DWI client's running me over my fault if I didn't have both. There are a few taillamps that are additionally/simultaneously DOT/CPSC/Euro-certified reflectors. <--- Also a failsafe if your battery goes flat.
