Early to mid-90s, they had a thing for oversized head tubes (not even counting Headshoks & their predecessors). My Killer V takes a 1 1/4" threadless headset. 🙄 I can definitely see that yours is bigger than 1", but it's not that obvious to most folks, until they get used to what they're seeing. 😉
