Bike looks great, and kudos for going with the white saddle and bar tape (they looks perfect on this frame).

As for the Columbus stickers, I actually like them and would leave them. To me they make the bike look racy, in the way that sponsorship decals often do.

I've been using that clear 3M protection tape. Just a few small pieces, often layered where there is the most rub, and you really can't notice them unless you are looking directly at them. So far they have been durable, but I haven't put huge miles on any of my bikes with them so far. In any case, I will just keep an eye on them and replace if they start to wear through. That tape is cheap and easy to work with.
