I ride the mountain bike as well as paved trails in Houston, specifically NW Houston. You can YouTube Cypress Creek mountain biking to see the trails.

I originally bought the bike for exercise and planned on riding it on pavement mostly, but I quickly discovered that I could drop the tire pressure to about 5lbs and hit the off-road trails with ease. Being a fat bike I can also hit the horse trails that usually run right against the creeks and contain a lot of sand.

I am not setting any speed records or KOM's on Strava, but I have more fun on the fat bike than I ever had with a standard MTB. Far less crashes too.
