I would agree considering how nice these are the original paint was not great. Compared to the the top end Japan bikes, Raliegh USA and Schwinn stuff the paint kinda sucked on theses.
The paint on a lot of the "premium" Italian bikes from the 80's kinda sucked....period. Let alone their tendency to "quick release" from the frames, with hardly any provocation on many 9f them......
