After being skunked last weekend in terms of outdoor riding, I took the afternoon off to get a 50 mile ride in. Down to Afton then through Lake Elmo to the Gateway Trail, then up from the Mississippi home. Much of it was on the gateway trail, a mostly flat paved rail trail. Too much stop and go once you get into town, but still a great way to travel (and sure beats work).
Pics include:
Passing view of a little lake in Afton
Farm view in Grant Township - we're well past peak, but a nice time of year
A steel bridge on the gateway trail
Gitane at Pine Point Park (obligatory bike pic)
This guy needs something bigger than a 57cm
Lake Phalen looking nice in the fall (made me want to go sailing)
