I was given(sold) day old coffee at a donut shop one time. I don't remember which one. I complained, and she was completely unaware.
There used to be a restaurant out in the boonies that used the same grounds for three rounds. To save money. We found out this bit of info, having been served the third round
It was around then that I began carrying a small amount of instant, to stiffen up restaurant coffee. I recommend it.
