Literal thinking is one of the hallmarks of being On The Spectrum. I think it's why so many of us are punsters - when someone says something that could be interpreted different ways, including with puns, we get them all at the same time.
I am ok with that. My cyclist friend from Menlo Park told me that the area has a HUGE population of people on the spectrum. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
