I couldn't tell that it was there, but to put that into perspective that rack weighs only a pound and the DIY trunk is very light - all together, less weight than the saddlebag with minitool etc. Which is about 3" lower now than it was previously, which maybe offsets it some. I do tend to keep my commuting load to a minimum.
