yeah .... and had no idea angle grinders cut through locks securing MTBs just like they cut through locks securing road bikes .... or cut right through the racks .....

Huge difference between MTB riding and road riding. Huger difference between both, and spinning. I find spinning is a very specific kind of workout, and definitely has benefits.

That said, when my hours doubled I dropped my gym membership---if I have a free hour the bike gets me ... not the bike ride to the gym.

I still haven't regained enough overall fitness for serious MTB riding since breaking my collarbone. Legs and lungs might be adequate but the rest of me would get so beat up ...
