What is it with showering??? I haven't ridden a PBP before, but that seems to be the last necessary thing on my mind. I just can't understand the perspective of sacrificing the time needed for a shower. Again, I have not done a PBP or a 1200km. I am looking to ride 2023 - just researching all I can.
I did not shower or sleep during PBP 2015. Same kit start to finish. Solo virtually the entire ride. Brutal. Best hallucinations, though
I slept almost 20 hours and took 2 showers in 2019. I took the luxury of a spare set of bibs. Total luxury. I rode easy and finished in a leisurely 75 or 76 hours IIRC.
Some of the controls have superb sleeping facilities and have a shower right down the hall from the bed you slept in.
