Your post reminded me of something. I also have a bivy but use a 2 man tent all the time. The time it takes to get into and out of a bivy or solo tent is much longer than for a 2 man tent. The “door” is so small I cannot zip it open and dive inside. So the time the netting is open, letting bugs into the tent is much longer. With the 2 man tent, I rarely get bugs in. That would be a deciding factor. I hate having mosquitoes buzzzing around inside all night.
