different part numbers only means they are different parts, not that they are incompatible.
I have an Ultegra groupset - I hated the chrome "nameplate" on the Ultegra brifters, the nameplate on the Dura Ace is identical, but black (different part number), but dimensionally the same. I swapped them on and they fit perfect.
