I was on 53 mm RTP tires, and I didn't slow down much, and it didn't seem very long. I'd estimate 1.2 km. So, that's about 1200 km on 53 mm tires, and for that 0.1% of the ride, I was really thankful to have them.

On the other hand, I was pretty happy to have fat tires even when skinny tires would have been fine.
