For me, there is a difference in the ride, but for most of my bikes, it is not as significant as others state. The bike it makes the biggest difference on is my Orbea Avant. Honestly, it is not just the width, but also the supple tires, Vittoria Open Pave clinchers, and the latex tubes. I have that set up on 3 bikes. The wheels also make a difference. I switched from 15mm inner width Vuelta rims and hubs to 19mm inner width HED Ardennes Performance. That added 2 mm to the width and dropped the psi by 10 lbs. in each tire. I can definitely feel the difference.
