I never had paid much notice to the Avatars and had it not been for this thread, I would never have added one of my own. My newly posted avatar shows my Great grandmother and her brother on their bikes in 1896 (the cycling bug started early in my forbears as there was mention of a bike being included in a family inheritance in the late 1870's.) My user name is French for "Citizen of the world". I have lived all over the world and like they say in the Talking Heads song: "have three passports" so I suppose it is appropriate.

This second photo is of my great great grandmother (the mother of the riders seen in the photo above) in 1920 when she was ridden around town when she was in her late 80's or early 90's.
