Strop was a legendary character on the Paul Hogan show back in the seventies played by John Cornell. He typified the not-too-bright but mostly harmless surfy boy (complete with rainbow propeller cap) who always (mistakenly) looked up to Hoges for guidance. In real life he was far from it as he got the girl from the show (the curvaceously delicious Delvene Delaney) and went on to make a fortune producing the three Crocodile Dundee movies.
