I am not inclined to give up either coffee or alcohol, but I did long ago give up coffee AND alcohol, after trying to get to sleep after an evening drinking Irish Coffee, the world's best tasting pharmaceutical mistake.
I surprised myself by drinking considerably less than I expected the last year and a half. I made sure I was thoroughly equipped with rum, tequila, gin, various whiskeys, and mixers, but then only occasionally bothered to drink anything.
