Does it have a sticker showing it meets any of the helmet safety standards? Usually, your higher priced helmets, such as those that use "Wavecell" or "MIPS" technology are going to provide better protection. I won't be the judge of how much protection is adequate for your riding. But a helmet should at least meet established helmet standards, listed here:
