You want an echo.
Values issues, or other small "holes in the heart", can be essentially harmless, they just reduce efficiency. Really bad valve problems will strain the heart and possibly cause other problems by throwing off little bits of infection (vegetations / endocarditis) or clotted blood that stagnated around a faulty valve in an eddy. Essentially all is treatable, antibiotics, blood thinners, or worst case valve replacement or heart transplant.
