Yesterday was the group's annual ride in the Wisconsin hills north of Lake Pepin (of Laura Ingalls Wilder's
Little House in the Big Woods fame).
It was a great day, despite some quirks and challenges. One of the guys lost his front wheel, while picking up others on the way there, but we were fortunate enough to find a wheel to borrow. Mid-ride, another guy had his pedal break on him, sliding off the spindle while stuck to his shoe, so he and a few others limped home along an easier route. And then a couple of the guys and I ended up wasting time jawing with some Karen whose hubby buzzed us in their SUV.
Still a great day and a great ride, though. It was really pretty, the weather couldn't have been too much better (we did have a few sprinkles), I paced the hills well and felt strong the whole day, and crossed through all four streams without issue.
And then one of my mates took a pic of me takin' all these pics.
