Their support actually got back to me with a test to do which entails opening up the "smart" part of the trainer to test something, so will give that a try.
Yeah, the Elite app should have a calibrate function. You could use Zwift's calibration -- I can't use it to calibrate the Saris because the spin down takes so long Zwift times out. I use the Saris app on my phone to calibrate.
