Stealth Paramount

I finished up the PDG Paramount today and took some pics . Weight all up just under 24 lbs. I had to change the wheels as the rear has a spoke that tore out of the rim. I used a set of Navic Open Pro's on 105 hubs and found that the Campi 8 spd cassette wouldn't work so used a Shimano Hyperglide 13-25 instead. I wasn't sure if it would index to the Campy brifters but it seems to work fine. Peeling off the old stickers was easy and there was no hidden damage underneath. The Campi rear derailleur cable adjustment screw was broken but instead of trying to fix it I rummaged around in the bins at the shop and found a matching part in good nick. the front brake also gave me trouble. the cable clamp was frozen. I removed the assembly and soaked it in penetrating oil overnight then used a long shank hex wrench to break it loose. Rather than putting the bolt back , which had the recessed hex head damaged, I fitted another one in it's place and now all is right.

I am a little uncertain as to whether I should have stripped off the Campi group to sell separately . I could probably have used all 105 to build it up like it came from the factory. hopefully we will find a buyer that appreciates it as it is and will pay a decent price for the package. It really is a nice bike.
