The lack of temperature extremes is very appealing, and like you said, perfect temps for summer cycling. Here in the valley, I've been doing early morning rides to avoid the heat later in the day. You do get a fair amount of rain at the coast in the winter, but it tends to move through pretty quickly for the most part, rather than hanging around forever like I does in the valley with the inversion layer. And you get some pleasant surprises at the coast, too: occasional shorts and t-shirt weather (well, at least for me—my wife says I'm a furnace) in January.
