45-spot starting in escondido and heading west on harmony grove rd. hung a right on questhaven rd and grabbed that nearly a mile's worth of dirt.
it had rained a little in the last few hours so it was still firm enough to get through without dismounting or crudding up the wheels/drivetrain. popped back
out into civilization near double peak and descended to/past san elijo hills. left on rancho santa fe rd through olivenhain and took that all the way
to the coast highway in cardiff. coast highway for a few miles, then bounced inland via palomar airport rd. wide bike lane but equivalent to
riding on a freeway since some of the traffic hits 60+ mph. a little stop at pizza port bressi ranch carlsbad for **ahem** pizza. riiiight. back on
palomar airport rd to san marcos and following the ca hwy 78 corridor back to the start. overcast the entire ride and a bit breezy (3/4 headwind
riding north) along the coast. hounded by six e-bikers during the stoplight sequencing between leucadia and palomar airport rd in carlsbad.
annoying but probably prodded me to ride faster into that 3/4 headwind for a few miles.
