You should find a couple other guys that want to kill it on the tarmac, and see how that goes.
Last time I was so gassed hanging with those guys after the dirt, it was all I could do to recover to hang with on the next section. If it was all dirt then all pavement, I would give it a shot if I were feeling good. Unfortunately, it's around a mile or two of dirt, a mile or two of pavement throughout the lap of 15 or so miles.
