We’re all different and you need to make the best choice for you. I’ll share my experience. I bought a hybrid because I wanted comfort. After a few years bought an endurance road bike. I’m more comfortable on the road bike (hands, hip, knee) to the extent I no longer ride the hybrid and I never ride in the drops. I only ride paved bike trails.
