710 tire size

Any chance the 700x38's will fit? The other consideration is that I have an 1982 Miyata 610 that gets pushed farther back in the garage every time I bring another bike home. The 610 is going to remain a 27" bike but it looks very similar to the 710 on paper and there is going to be a massive herd cull at some point, so I shouldn't be buying more bikes just "on principle" Thoughts? Thanks, Woody

P.S. here's a link to the 1981 catalog. 1981 Miyata catalog
I have a red Miyata 710 that I bought new in 1981 (also bought a Team Pro that I still have).
The 710 will fit a 30mm tire (actual width inflated) but I have been running 28mm Continental 4 Seasons for many years.
For those who think the Pro is the same geometry it is not...it will only fit a 25mm...I run Gatorskins.
The 710 is setup as a 2x9 hill climber with a 46/30 FSA crankset and an 11-34 cassette and a Deore rear mech...everything else is Shimano 105...it's still a very relevant member of my herd...
