So I rode 21.1 miles in all. It was obviously raining and cold. There were inconsequential amounts of slush on the roadside. I didn’t encounter any ice so I can feel comfortable saying anyone else contemplating riding won’t need studded tires. The 34mm wide Bontrager CX0’s I have mounted ate up every mile. I wore my Goretex rain coat and Craft hardshell pants, Bontrager boots and Bar Mitts. The snow on the unpaved surfaces was a dreadful sight to behold. I’d have skipped riding today if I weren’t trying to burn off last nights beer and ice cream. That and I’m trying to hit 2000 miles before May 1st.
