My experience is a little different. Bought a rear rack, installed from the LBS. No probs, like it.. When the rear wheel is off the rack pulls or pushes, I forget which, the frame open/closed a little. To replace the wheel I have to push or pull to get the wheel back in. It's not much. Maybe 2 mm.

It's not really a problem when you know what's going on.
