If the BB wasn't simultaneously loose AND gummy AND mildly crunchy I would have put enough parts back on to ride the bike without a fixing bolt and work it loose that way. But, no, the BB is a horror all its own. I am hoping that it's just a matter of cleaning, fresh grease and adjustment.
