Back when I was young and racy, I could never match the guys with the short and fast acceleration in last 100 yards, and if I waited to react to them, I had no hope. What I figured out is that I was at my best winding up a 53x11 from 200+ meters and holding it to the line. It forced everyone else to react to my game, and play to my strengths. Yes. I have decided I need to get out of their sight and wind it up a bit before they go.

I tried all manner. My best results were when the pace was high throughout the race, and not having to break stride to dodge the guys that were running out of gas on the last lap. Keep in mind, we race with the 50 Open guys, and a lot is dictated on their crap too.
