She was actually pretty good during high school, but really came into her own about half way through college.
I had a coworker who had one of those easy kids for her firstborn. She said she and her husband thought they were the perfect parents, because they'd see other parents out there struggling with their children and think, "Wow, our daughter would NEVER do that! We must be so good at parenting!"
"Then came Luke." Apparently their second child disabused them of the notion of their perfection. Like, completely.
