Closed out October with a 33-miler up to Highland Park. 46 degrees at the start, 57 degrees by the time I got home.
Rode up the North Branch Trail and passed through the Skokie Lagoons.
The wind was calm, which allowed for the water to reflect the trees.
Lots of dead trees in the swamp.
We’re past peak color, but there’s still some here and there.
When I got to the botanical garden, I was surprised to see many things still blooming. We haven’t had a hard frost yet.
Peaked inside of one of the many massive greenhouses. Plenty of cacti ready for winter.
Roses are still hanging in there.
Need another 100 miles to reach 2000 for the season.
