WhyFi that this would be impractical for several reasons… But I do see your point. During Covid, when most races were canceled, I started hunting KOMs as a way to stay fit and sharp. One day, over halfway through a 75 mile training ride, I worked my tail off to nab a KOM that was about 5 miles long. A few months later, I got the notification that it had been taken from me… And when I checked the leaderboard I found that I was in 11th place! A group of 10 riders had attacked it while working together. They had each beat me by only a few seconds. I did consider commenting on their rides – – something snarky like, “it took 10 of you to beat me?“
