It's like some drivers simply don't comprehend that they are allowed to simply slow down and wait until it's safer to do something.

Near my house we have several intersections with mini roundabouts. I think they're really more about just slowing drivers on the main road. More of a chicane than anything. I once had a car pass me right as I was going around one of these. It of course forces the car to go far right (I'm in the USA) as it effectively just narrows the road, a lot. That was a lesson for me to claim the lane before I get to these things. My way of making it clear to a driver to just stay behind me until we get past this.

My experience is most drivers are actually pretty courteous where I live. But there are the few that I really think see running into something as the better option to just slowing down or stopping.
