This is a 1981 Specialized Sequoia frame (size 56), made in 1981, the first year that Specialized offered road bike frames. (I believe they introduced the Allez at the same time.) It was designed by Tim Neenan. I have done some research about these early Sequoias and it is possible it could have been built by Yoshi Konno, but I cannot confirm that. I purchased the bike from Shreve Island Bikes in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1981 and am the original owner.I had the bike built up by Shreve Island Bikes with
Campagnolo Nuovo Record components, consisting of
derailleur, crank, shifters, brakes, hubs. In 2018, I had new Mavic clincher wheels built up. I believe one of the hubs is an original Campagnolo hub from 1981 and the other is recent vintage. The bike is in excellent condition. There are a few minor areas of rust that are noted in photos. Was asking $2,100. New price: $1,400.
