The Felt was a Z85 and the Giant was a Defy 1 (had to go back and look at some of my posts from back then).
I went back and checked my old posts from 2011. The Felt was $975 and the Giant was $999. They were both on sale (back when you could actually get bikes on sale...plus I lived in San Diego where bike shops are all over the place and sales were frequent).
I typoed, I meant Giant, not Trek. Yes, you got avery good deal on the Giant at $1000, but no, 105 was not normal for all bikes over $500. The big difference rightnow is there's no new bikes from previous model years available with the markdown.
