Why are you envisioning a rental? Why not, say, a loop starting from where you fly into?
And 50 miles/day with a hotel every other night doesn’t seem to equate well to great distances between towns.
As for boredom, that depends on you. I like to read and generally relax when off the bike. I like my own company and don’t feel the need to constantly interact with others. But maybe that’s not you.
And did you mention terrain?
