Just don't drive it till it runs out of charge! Hard to get back home when you do that.
It was a Volt so he had the engine as a back-up if he depleted the battery. Funny thing was, he liked the car and wasn't trying for a buy back. He just wanted to argue about how it worked. Or maybe he was just dense.
