This past summer, I did two of my 25-milers as day trips. It's not the same having to race against daylight and not being able to stick around for nighttime activities in the parks and downtowns of places I visit. If I'm not going to get in a swim or enjoy lounging on the hotel balcony as night falls, I might as well just do day rides from home.
