That's a great point! We ended up going with a 27.5" summer wheelset on my wife's bike - primarily to improve her standover height - but it has resulted in more pedal strikes. In our case, going from a 26x4.6 to a 27.5x3 actually lowered the BB by at least one-half of an inch. She would definitely be better off with 29s or perhaps shorter cranks.
