Thanks to folks for the advice and offers too. Off to the co-op Monday to see if anything is available to get this into riding condition by next weekend, but slim pickings there. Yes to that collector/enthusiast comment too. Now if the stock crank was just fine, one might hold out for a buyer looking for a stocker. Replacing the original crankset would make me feel a little less guilty about taking off the front rack and even perhaps the rear one too and selling this bike as a high quality rider locally. I will have to see what comes up this week.
