I can believe it. Major reason I did my loop in mid-June. 2015 was an unusually wet spring. Custer got 8” of snow the first week of June, but it melted quickly. A local woman I spoke with in the city park in Custer told me all the green growth lining the creek was usually shriveled and brown at that time. There were a couple of places a few miles outside of Edgemont that I had to skateboard due to washouts from heavy rain earlier that spring. Agree that Minnetonka Trailhead to the southern terminus in Edgemont is probably the least interesting.
