My wife had a meeting with the chief medical officer of their hospital network the other day. He said that while their total hospitalizations are not what they were at their worst, their staffing shortages make it an equivalent strain.
Some hospitals are canceling elective surgeries.
While deaths are not quite as high as they were personally I'm unwilling to accept 1000-1500 deaths a day as ok.Total US ICU occupancy is still roughly 1/3 off of where it was at peak, hospitalization are approaching the same numbers.
