It would not open when I approached or tried to use the handle.

Thankfully, I was home and have a second key. Would have been a mess if I had stopped somewhere on the way.
A friend who got a new Chevy truck during cash for clunkers had it lock itself every time he walked away from it. I used it a lot around the farm. We had to remember to always leave a window open.
