Solved...I hope.
There has been much written about being on the same network. I only have one, or so I thought. Apparently my laptop was connecting on the 2.4 GHz band and my phone on the 5 GHZ. I couldn't figure out how to switch, so I just disconnected and reconnected and both the same. And...it worked.
Sample of one, so we'll see next time I decide to torture myself.
