Today's attempt:
Rebooted laptop. Assured that both were on the same 5GHz wireless band. After I started to ride, I launched Z Companion and it worked!
For about 10 minutes.
Very good wifi signal.
Didn't really matter as it was a solo adventure and no one to message anyway.
